What are autotransformers
This is the model we find on city poles. We can also classify electrical transformers as autotransformers, which raise or lower voltages of 110-117-120 volts and 220-230-240 volts.
Example: with an output of 110 or 220v, with an input of 230v, the autotransformer allows electrical equipment (from 100 or 120V) to be used safely and efficiently with 230V outputs.
Electrical transformers can also be classified according to the material used in their core, being ferromagnetic or air core, or even in relation to the number of phases during their operation. In this case, it is possible to find single-phase, three-phase, and even polyphase models.
