Chiller Rental for Scheduled Maintenance in Major Airports
Planned work with specialized service ensures success in the climate control process.
Renting Chillers is a strategic option clients can choose for emergency or scheduled situations, always considering cost-effectiveness at the time of rental.
How Chillers Work
Chillers are equipment that cater to a wide range of climate control applications for environments (comfort) or liquid cooling (processes).
In other words, companies of all sizes can benefit from this rental option across various economic sectors.
We know that in the airport context, the proper functioning of the climate control system is essential, as it ensures a pleasant temperature within standards, guarantees indoor air quality, low energy consumption, and a long system lifespan.
Additionally, there are sanitary issues, as increased ambient temperature impacts the rate of food degradation.
24-Hour Operation Requires Care
Operating in an environment that runs 24/7 all year round adds complexity and increases the criticality of operations like equipment installation and maintenance in the climate control system.
Tecnogera has a fleet of Chillers & Accessories to serve airports during scheduled or emergency maintenance.
One of our company’s major differentiators is the flexibility of contract duration and agility in delivery.
The rental contract model can be for days or years.
Climate Control at the Airport, How It Works
Recently, one of Brazil’s largest airports, located in Rio de Janeiro, decided to intervene in two of its Central Chilled Water Plants.
Reducing two CAGs (Central Chilled Water Plants) would worsen the airport’s ambient temperature, especially with the approach of summer, which not only signals high temperatures but also periods of high foot traffic, particularly from December to March.
In this context, the client needed a temporary climate control solution to meet thermal load demands during peak season months.
Materials Provided for Climate Control
Tecnogera then supplied two CAGs: one to serve the Cargo Terminal CAG and the other to serve the support area CAG.
The first has over 17,000 m³ of climate-controlled storage area. The second houses administrative, financial, and support institutions.
These data indicate that these areas are extremely important for ensuring the perfect operation and quality of airport services.
The airport already had a well-structured climate control system and prior rental experience.
However, Tecnogera needed to make some adjustments related to electrical power.
Additionally, we developed hydraulic accessories. This was necessary because the client provided a single point for hydraulic connection for the temporary CAGs, requiring the development and fabrication of headers to enable Chiller connections.
As it was a critical area, the client could not risk energy supply interruptions/fluctuations.
Therefore, Tecnogera proceeded with the installation of extra panel protection through distribution panels with individual breakers for the equipment.
Tecnogera ensured the climate control of the airport’s CAGs through the turnkey solution. Thus, the spaces were equipped with the following resources:
- 02 (two) Chillers with a capacity of 300 TR each for SUPPORT CAG;
- 03 (three) Chillers with a capacity of 170 TR each for the Cargo Terminal CAG;
- Customized headers for hydraulic connection;
- 02 Panels of over 1000A each with individual breakers per equipment;
- Over 300 meters of 6″ / 150psi Water Discharge Hoses;
- Over 2,000 meters of 240mm² Cable;
- Transport, loading, and unloading;
- All necessary infrastructure for external hydraulic and electrical installation;
- Mobilizations and Chiller Deployments;
- Preventive and corrective maintenance;
- Demobilizations.
The closed proposal covers service from December 2019 to February 2020.
Thus, the issue of meeting thermal needs due to the high temperatures of the Rio summer was resolved.
The actions were developed with the principle of integrating quality assurance, safety, environment, and health requirements.
Differentiated Service
To proceed with the service, Tecnogera provided an extensive series of documents required for the integration of employees in the airport’s accreditation sector.
Thus, along with the ASO (Occupational Health Certificate), OS (Service Order), PPE Record, NR 10/20/35, and technical diplomas of the employees.
Additionally, we delivered the APR (Preliminary Risk Analysis) containing the control measures to be adopted and the PPRA (Environmental Risk Prevention Program).
All employees were registered with the Federal Police and performed their activities with excellence.
It is worth noting that Tecnogera has a highly qualified technical team for start-up, operation, and monitoring with full capacity to operate in critical areas.
Tecnogera ensured the full operation of the rented equipment for the requested service.
All deadlines related to preventive maintenance are met.
Tecnogera offers 24-hour service, commercial and technical support; insurance included to ensure asset security.
The company is prepared for corrective services with aggressive SLAs, within 04 hours after the call is opened via the Service Center.
This makes our company the first to offer quick solutions in such situations.
Additionally, the company is ISO 9001 certified and has a rigorous customer satisfaction process (NPS) from installation to contract completion.
