After the 2015 water crisis, 2016 saw an increase in rainfall.

Despite improvements in reservoir levels, some regions, like the Northeast, have accumulated volumes below expectations, and the supply crisis is not averted.

On one hand, the arrival of summer and the rainiest period of the year brings positive expectations for hydroelectric reservoirs throughout Brazil. On the other hand, power outages caused by storms and winds during this season are a concern.

For instance, last summer, the main cause of power supply interruptions was falling branches and trees on the power grid.

In São Paulo alone, during a single storm, more than 200 trees fell, causing significant damage.

While power outages are a major inconvenience for end consumers, they are even more disruptive for industries, businesses, and service providers.

A supply failure can halt an entire factory’s production line, leaving employees idle, delaying product deliveries, and even risking machinery and equipment operations.

Thus, the use of temporary power provided by diesel generators is increasingly strategic to ensure business operations during the rainy season with high storm incidence.

By keeping a generator in StandBy, power is immediately restored when an outage occurs, preventing production stoppages and business losses.
