At the beginning of March, the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) announced that in January, pre-salt production was a record, totaling more than 1.5 million barrels of oil per day.
This result meant that production from pre-salt wells accounted for 47% of the total produced in Brazil.
To handle this production, dozens of oil platforms operate continuously.
Being offshore, where there are no transmission lines, the platforms rely on the use of power generators for all demands.
However, for temporary power suppliers, meeting the demands of this segment is quite challenging.
The first major challenge is getting the generators to the platforms, which involves precise logistics of transporting to the location and hoisting the generator from the cargo ship to the platform.
Once this phase is overcome, it is necessary to get the generator to operate efficiently and always in tune with the sector’s demands.
With its particular and specific demands, the oil and gas sector also challenges temporary power suppliers to offer aligned and tailored solutions.
Tecnogera accepted the challenge and developed lighter and more compact generators that do not need to be dismantled to be hoisted, reducing logistical costs.
Being smaller, they also take up less space on the platforms.
In parallel, Tecnogera’s engineering team developed equipment that produces the same amount of energy while consuming less fuel.
The result is a simpler and more efficient operation for the oil and gas sector.
