The year 2016 was not easy for retail. Data from the historical series of the Monthly Trade Survey by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics – IBGE, indicated a retraction of 6.4% from January to November 2016.
Contrary to the shrinking retail sector, wholesale networks and those known as “atacarejo,” which is self-service wholesale, recorded a growth of 14% in 2016.
The good performance of the sector is closely related to the change in Brazilian shopping habits, who, motivated by the crisis, seek other channels for their monthly purchases.
With the good reception from consumers, large wholesale and “atacarejo” networks are expanding across all regions of Brazil, strengthening the purchasing model marked by the acquisition of large volumes.
The expansion impacts the entire supplier network of this chain, including temporary energy suppliers, which are indispensable in the implementation of new stores.
As these are large enterprises, the demand for energy is enormous and the utility company needs some time to supply it.
As a result, power generators are necessary from the construction phase to the implementation and first months of operation of the new store.
The generators are responsible for the entire energy supply, ensuring the operation of lighting, refrigeration equipment, and also air conditioning.
Tecnogera counts the largest wholesale, “atacarejo,” and retail networks as clients, offering tailor-made solutions for each need.
