After the rainy season ends in the Northeast, local reservoirs continue to have low water storage levels, and the risk of rationing remains high.
In this scenario, the Castanhão reservoir, which supplies the greater Fortaleza area in Ceará, is at 5.5% of its capacity, which is 6.7 billion liters of water—a situation deemed critical by the National Water Agency (ANA).
The problem is repeated in reservoirs in the state of Bahia, such as Sobradinho, which at the end of last year reached 6.1% of its total capacity, as well as Três Marias and Itaparica.
The risk of water shortage is real for public and private companies of all sizes and sectors, as well as for the general population, who suffer from water scarcity each year.
The water crisis has increased the demand for emergency structures to transfer water from reservoirs.
These structures involve pumping water from one reservoir to another or to higher areas and require the use of power generators.
Aligned with this demand, Tecnogera is expanding its presence in the Northeast by opening a branch in Simões Filho, Bahia.
Investments are around R$ 15 million, and the company’s goal is to be closer to its clients.
With a branch operating in Rio Grande do Norte since 2013, Tecnogera expects to increase its market share in the Northeast by 50% in the coming years.
