What are renewable energies
Before we delve into the largest wind energy event in Latin America, it’s important to reinforce the concepts that drive movements like this worldwide.
Renewable energies are, by definition, those that do not deplete or can regenerate.
Common examples of renewable energies:
- Wind, generated from the wind.
- Solar, derived from the sun.
- Hydro, obtained through water.
Also known as clean energies, they are generated from natural resources and therefore have minimal or no environmental impact.
The Brazil Windpower event
As mentioned, it is the largest wind energy event in Latin America, and in 2024 it arrived in São Paulo with the overarching theme: scenarios for green industrialization policy – the role of the wind industry.
With complementary themes over the three days of the event, major topics such as a fair energy transition, business in favor of the green economy, and projects with social and environmental impacts were covered.
The event also includes public policies aimed at the sector.
In the 2024 edition, the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, was present, discussing the wind energy market for the region.
Additionally, representatives from ABEEólica presented the Wind Sector’s Socio-Environmental Best Practices Guide, addressing important social and environmental topics.
Besides the lectures and arenas, Brazil Windpower 2024 featured over 110 hours of panels and more than 150 exhibitors.
