Also known by the acronym ATS, the automatic transfer switch is essentially one of the most important devices for a power generator.
This is because the device maintains safety control and performs various functions that ensure the energy supply through the generator.
The automatic transfer switch can be programmed to perform some essential functions for the activation of a generator, such as immediate switching or interruption of an external grid’s electrical signal.
In the latter case, the ATS activates a panel that immediately starts the generator set. It is at this moment that the energy supply is restored.
If a serious system failure occurs that prevents its activation, the transfer switch panel itself performs a lockout to maintain the integrity of the power generator.
For this, a trained employee simply needs to manually press the “reset” button on the ATS and monitor all start-up attempts.
Due to its importance for the operation of the power generator set, the ATS is ideal for those working with:
- Negative pressure systems
- Milking operations
- Soil irrigation
- Poultry farms
- Large heavy industries
- Residences
- Companies of various sizes and sectors
The installation of a transfer switch in the power generator also makes a significant difference during large events and for commerce in general.
