NEED OF THE CLIENT
The interconnection between the Rio Grande system (part of the Billings Reservoir) and the Alto Tietê (Taiaçupeba reservoir) was one of the main interventions by the São Paulo state government following the 2014 water crisis, aiming to reduce the use of the Cantareira System. During this period, São Paulo faced water scarcity and rationing, as the lack of rain lowered the water levels in the reservoirs.
SOLUTION TECNOGERA
To enable this interconnection, it was necessary to power the pumping of 4,000 liters of water per second, totaling 14.5MVA of energy capacity. Tecnogera developed a power generation hub with 15 gas generator sets imported from Europe, meeting all performance and environmental impact requirements necessary for project delivery. Working with a tight deadline and the need for infrastructure development for installation and operation, the project was ready for activation in 15 days, ensuring we met our client’s demands.
