The Olympic Games are the world’s largest event, bringing together athletes from all continents every four years to compete in various sports, representing their countries, pushing their limits, and making history. There was great anticipation regarding the infrastructure for the Rio 2016 Games, and the event’s complexity and scale required the full commitment of the entire supply chain to ensure everything ran smoothly. Tecnogera played a crucial role: providing power for the opening and closing ceremonies, key competition venues such as the Milton Santos Olympic Stadium, Engenhão, the beach volleyball arena in Copacabana, the Deodoro Sports Complex, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, and the grand stage, Maracanã. With execution timelines four times shorter than previous editions, Tecnogera delivered 87MW across 25 different competition venues, using nearly 300 power generators interconnected by 1,500,000 meters of electrical cables, ensuring the flawless operation of all transmission, timing, and structural systems necessary for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
